How do I vote?
Each of the contestants will be assigned their own toll-free number (e.g. 1-888-SCARY-01 for April, 1-888-SCARY-02 for Kitty or 1-888-SCARY-03 for Jenny) during the show. To vote, simply watch The Search for the Next Elvira on Fox Reality Channel (check your local listing for times) and at the end of the show dial the number of the contestant for whom you wish to vote. You may vote as many times as you like. The producers reserve the right to disqualify, block or remove any votes from an individual who votes using any electronic, mechanical or automated means, or otherwise tampers with the vote process (see the Is there ever a time when votes I cast may not count? section).
Rules and procedures are subject to change at producer’s discretion without notice.
Who can vote?
Anyone calling from within Continental US, Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico can cast their vote(s) for The Search for the Next Elvira via the toll free phone numbers.
When can I vote?
The toll-free vote starts on October 21st 2007 at 1:55 am Eastern Time Zone/ October 20th 2007 at 10:55 pm Pacific Time Zone and ends on Sunday October 28th 2:59:59pm Eastern Time Zone/ 11:59:59 am Pacific Time Zone.
Outside of these times the toll-free lines will play a busy signal and your call will not count as a vote.
How many times can I vote?
You may vote as many times as you like via toll-free telephone voting. However, the producers reserve the right to disqualify, block or remove any votes from any individual who votes by any electronic, mechanical or automated means, or otherwise tampers with the vote process. How much does it cost to vote?
Telephone calls to The Search for the Next Elvira voting lines are toll-free from landlines. If you use a wireless phone to call, airtime and applicable roaming and long distance charges may apply. Contact your cell phone service provider if you want to know how much you will be charged.
Can I vote using my cell phone?
Yes, you can vote using a cell phone, although airtime and applicable roaming charges will apply to toll-free numbers called from wireless phones. Contact your cell phone service provider if you want to know how much you will be charged.
What will I hear if I call the toll-free numbers?
The toll-free vote starts on October 21st 2007 at 1:55 am Eastern Time Zone/ October 20th 2007 at 10:55 pm Pacific Time Zone. If you call before then you will hear a busy signal and your vote will not count. During the vote window, the phone message will confirm the contestant number for whom you have voted. After the voting window closes, at Sunday October 28th 2:59:59pm Eastern Time Zone/ 11:59:59 am Pacific Time Zone no more votes will be accepted and lines will play a busy signal.
Can I vote using a payphone?
Votes from payphones will be blocked. To vote for your favorite contestant, use a standard landline or cell phone. Charges may apply when using your cell phone.
How do I find out the results?
The results will be revealed during the finale show on Fox Reality Channel on October 31st 2007. See local listings for show times in your area.
Is there ever a time when votes I cast may not count?
Fox Reality Channel, Natural9 Entertainment, and/or Telescope, Inc. and their respective parent, subsidiary and affiliated entities and persons, (collectively, the “Sponsors”) reserve the right to disqualify, block or remove any votes from an individual who votes using any electronic, mechanical or automated means, or otherwise tampers with the vote process, or for any other reason, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. Sponsors reserve the right, for any reason and in their sole discretion, to modify, suspend or discontinue the voting service without prior notice. Sponsors reserve the right to modify the show’s contest rules, and the terms and conditions of this voting process at any time their sole discretion.
Are there any other guidelines governing my vote?
Sponsors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for any damages that may occur as a result of my participation in the vote, including but not limited to difficulties, failures or malfunctions of phones (including wireless phones/handsets), phone lines or telephone systems or other communications malfunctions; cellular equipment towers, telephone systems or wireless services; interrupted or unavailable network, server; miscommunications, failed computer hardware or software or other technical failures; garbled, lost, misrouted or scrambled transmissions; any error, omission, interruption, defect or delay in any transmission or communication; traffic congestion or for any technical problem which may cause the voting to be disrupted or corrupted.
If for any reason the voting is not capable of being executed as planned, or infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsors, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, the Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to withdraw the transmission of any vote or permanently disqualify from any promotion any person it believes has intentionally violated these rules, and to terminate or suspend voting at any point and declare the Winner based on the votes up to that point, if it appears that the voting process has been so distorted by hacking or other interference that the results would not reflect actual valid votes should the polling continue. In the event of technical difficulties with the phone voting, Sponsors reserve the right to review the votes for accuracy and to take any appropriate action, including, without limitation, voiding the votes cast during the time period in which such technical difficulties occurred. Sponsors and their respective agents, officers, directors, employees, subsidiaries and affiliates assume no responsibility for any injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer relating to or resulting from entering or downloading materials or software in connection with this vote. Sponsors are not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind, for inaccurate transcription of voting information, errors in any promotional or marketing materials, for any human or electronic error, or for votes that are stolen, misdirected, garbled, delayed by computer transmissions, lost, or late.
