The “Househusbands of Hollywood” get real this week. No pet shows, or kid shows, we just get to watch the guys in their real-life settings. Darryl is shopping with Tempestt for some new image duds. Tempestt feels that he’s taken the California casual look too far. Katherine and Danny are trying out for The Newlywed Game, because Danny wants to earn some bucks on a game show. This is a common tactic among unemployed actors. They don’t get the gig, but Danny does get a shot on a show called “Catch 21”. It’s looking good for Danny as he makes it past the casting directors and actually onto the show. He smokes the competition in the beginning, but on the very last hand his opponent scores a miracle 21 and Danny doesn’t bring home the bacon. He says it’s a sobering experience for him. He’s tired of being a “househusband”.
Meanwhile Grant is getting swim lessons for daughter Ruby. But Ruby is going through a “mommy” stage. She wants her mommy all the time and this strange lady in the pool isn’t cutting it. Jillian also wants to show Ruby off on the red carpet. Grant is worried about the excitement in the middle of Ruby’s nap and she does freak out a bit. But it’s mommy she wants and Jillian is cherishing each moment.
Mommy Lisa has a gig doing makeup for Jillian and has to miss daughter Sophia’s 10th birthday party at Sea World. But daddy Billy loves every minute of fun with the kids. They swim with the dolphins and thoroughly enjoy themselves. Later Lisa joins them for dinner, but she expresses hope that Billy will be able to take over the reigns again so that she can be home with the kids.
Charlie is hanging out at a local restaurant with a well-endowed waitress. There are plenty of pretty girls to go around in Los Angeles as they arrive daily from around the world hoping to score success. This one has scored a bartending gig and hopefully a big tip from Charlie. He enjoys flirting with the young lady but claims he can only think about his kid.
The guys get together for their weekly pow-wow and talk about the trials and tribulations of being a househusband. Most of the guys are pretty secure in their roles, but there are some gnawing problems. Will Danny get a job and will Billy find another gig? Only Househusbands 2 will tell us the answer, |
