Reality Watch: 'Househusbands of Hollywood'

“Househusbands of Hollywood” is going to the dogs this week and to the cats. It’s Pet Week for the guys and we get to watch them pick up poop. This is a common phenomenon in Los Angeles. The Hollywood community is extremely pet-friendly and you’ll find a pooch or kitty in most abodes and usually multiples, as is the case for these fellows.

We learn that Tempestt and Darryl have longhaired cats with matted fur. Darryl takes the kitty to get shaved in a style known as the “lion cut”. Tempestt feels that it humiliates the cat, but it’s probably a lot cooler in the summer months. Meanwhile Danny and Katherine are pug owners. Danny decides to surprise Katherine with very large photos of the pooches. He hires a professional pet photographer who takes pics that look very much like any other pet pick I’ve seen. Katherine loves the gift though as Danny refers to them as their babies. She laughs as she knows that Danny tries to play the pets up as their “babies”, but she emphasizes that real babies will be in the works very soon.

Meanwhile Billy is having a hard time with his two newest pups that can’t learn to do their business outdoors. He argues with his kids and wife and finally hires an expert. The expert has her doubts about his ability to train the reckless mutts, but they are tiny and so are the poops.

Charlie is trying to convince his better half to get a dog. They already have three cats, but she insists that if he wants a dog they’ll have to move to Pasadena-huh? But Charlie loves his Brentwood locale and is even jokingly called the mayor by one of the shopkeepers. In the end he settles for goldfish.

Grant is dealing with a sick new pup. The pup is a rescue that was stowed on a long airplane trip by a nut. The little survivor is thriving in his new home but he has ringworm. Jillian is an ardent animal lover and doesn’t fret about the new pup as much as Grant does. They have several dogs and cats roaming about the home.

In the end the guys get together for their “meet-up” to discuss their pets. They mock each other over pet names and pet poop. But in the end they all adore their furry companions-a good man always does.
